(73 Article)

DENIOS provides a variety of masks and breathing protection equipment to safeguard against fumes and harmful gases. This includes reusable respirators that offer lightweight comfort. Types of Respiratory Protection

PPE - DENIOS

Respiratory protection is necessary for work environments with potential exposure to harmful airborne substances such as dust, fumes, gases, or vapors. There are two primary types of respiratory protection available.

The first is air-purifying respirators (APRs), which filter out particulates and contaminants from the worker’s air. This category includes respirators designed to capture dust, fumes, gases, and vapors, typically utilizing cartridges for filtration.

The second type is supplied-air respirators (SAR), which provide the wearer with a remote source of fresh air. Examples of this type of protection include airline respirators and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) respirators. Depending on the specific hazards present, appropriate respiratory protection must be selected to ensure worker safety.

Why Respiratory Protection?

DENIOS Breathing protection equipment is designed to protect the wearer from these hazards.

Before employees wear respiratory protection, it is necessary to check carefully whether this measure cannot be avoided by taking alternative technical or organizational protective measures. As a rule, the following points are checked:

  • Are there alternatives for the used hazardous substance, or can it be avoided entirely?

  • Can the release of hazardous substances be avoided?

  • Can the hazard be contained at the point of origin?

  • Can the activity also be carried out from a less hazardous location?

  • For example, can the pollutant be detected at its origin by suction?

Only if none of these measures can be carried out successfully must personal protection equipment be used, such as respiratory protection.
