Safety Signage

Whether warning of a wet floor or identifying potential hazards in the work area, signs and labeling are crucial to any safety program. Warning labels and signs are there to inform and protect workers of potentially dangerous hazards. Safety signs can also communicate essential instructions for daily work life and emergencies. Signs can also be used as visual cues to alert workers quickly and effectively.

Different Types of Signs

There are different safety signs, including prohibition, warning, mandatory, and safe condition signs.

Prohibition signs convey the “Do Not” type of command. Examples are the do not enter, do not extinguish with water, or do not smoke in this area. These signs are used to reinforce activities that are prohibited in a specific area.

Warning signs are used to inform people of potential dangers. Examples are warning not a fire exit or warning to look out for forklifts. These signs are required in some areas by specific regulations. You must check your local codes to make sure you comply.

Mandatory signs indicate actions that need to be taken to comply with regulations. Examples include eye protection, which must be worn, or the fire door should be kept shut. Some of these signs use pictograms to convey their messages.

Safe condition signs are used to indicate escape routes or emergency instructions. Examples include emergency exit signs or emergency shower signs. These types of symptoms should mark the safety procedure they relate to.

Selecting the type of sign is essential, but choosing the movement's material is just as important. Characters come in many different types of material and many different sizes. From metal to plastic glow-in-the-dark signs, DENIOS can provide a custom solution to meet all your signage needs.
